Wild & Scenic River Celebration

RIVER REC & EDUCATION CLASSES - 9 AM- 6:30 PM 
WILD & SCENIC PRESENTATION - 6:30 - 9 PM 
LIVE MUSIC BY THE JUGHANDLE PARADE! 
Classes, Speakers, Films and Music are FREE! Family Friendly.

RIVER REC & SAFETY CLASSES

All classes administered by the Swiftwater Safety Institute and brought to you by SVS and SWPA. Don’t miss these opportunities!

 

YOUTH “INTRO TO RIVER RUNNING” 
9:00 - 11:00 . Youth (ages 12-18) - Intro to River Running 

This class is designed to offer our youth a FREE chance to learn about river safety, rescue and navigating the river from the familiar surroundings of the Salmon City Pool. Participating youth will then have the opportunity to join our Community Float on Saturday with local outfitter, Idaho Adventures. This session will focus on navigation, teamwork, safety, river hazards, rescue, river gear and will serve as an introduction to kayaks, paddle boats and stand up paddle boards. 
 

BEGINNER KAYAK WORKSHOP
11- 3 PM Kayaking (ages 15+ Salmon City Pool & Island Park)

This class is for people that would like to start kayaking or have just started kayaking. River basics, safety, paddling, boat control, technique, wet exit and roll practice. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS. Call 208.940.0320 to reserve your spot. 
 

INTRO TO SWIFTWATER
5-6:30 PM . Adult (15+) A FREE land-based River Safety and Rescue Class for Beginner and Intermediate Boaters at Sweet Water Hollow.

WILD & SCENIC PRESENTATION . 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Speakers include IRU Ava Nora Isaacson, Outlandish and a surprise guest TBA soon. 
Live Musical Guest: Jughandle Parade (McCall)

JUNE 16, 2018
BLESSING OF THE BOATS
COMMUNITY FLOAT 11-2 PM 

CEREMONY & KICKOFF: 11AM at Shoup Bridge
DOWNTOWN RACES 2:30-5 PM

Support your local youth and boaters and watch the 
action along Island Park (westbank). Registration on 
Friday and day-of at Island Park. Race details TBA at 
here soon and on facebook at SALMON RIVERFEST 2018


BIG BALLS CHALLENGE KAYAK RACE: 2:30 PM
STAND UP PADDLE BOARD SLALOM: 3 PM
PADDLE BOAT RACES: 3:30 PM

$Some great prizes and bragging rights involved.

RIVERFEST MUSIC FESTIVAL
Join us for a killer taco feed, drinks, good company and an amazing lineup of bands and musicians. Family friendly. $10. Kids $5 Doors at 4 PM. Awards Ceremony and Raffles at 7:30 PM.
